You're Treading On Me!!

So It's been a while since the last post. Not too much new over here but I do have a few things to say about the new 311 record that "dropped" yesterday.
Firstly, I must say that I am glad that I downloaded this illegally because if I had payed my hard earned money on this crap, i would have written a letter to 311's management demanding my money back or that they go back into the studio and try again.
My first taste of the record came when I logged onto their website where they have the single "Don't Tread On Me." It's a catchy little ditty as their first singles usually are trying to capture this poppy, dancehall, reggae,hip-hop mix without straying far from the formula that made hits out of Amber, Champagne, and All Mixed Up. But then they throw in some heavy distorted guitar riffs randomly near the end of the song as if they were pulling away a mask to show all the old fans "HEY!!! IT'S STILL US BEHIND THIS BULLSHIT WE PLAY TO GET RADIO AIRPLAY.!!! WE'RE STILL HERE!!"
Unfortunately Most of the record is very very mellow. And were not talking about the chillin' spacey mellow that we usually think of. Im talking boring mellow go to sleep music.
Also, a few of the songs bear a direct similarity to another 311 song. "Solar Flare" bears a striking resemblence to " Hydroponic."
The bottom line is, Nick Hexum's voice is repetitive, SA is annoying(especially since he has decided to actually sing extended melodies with harmonies on this record),Chad Tim and P-Nut need to start a Jazz combo as I've been saying for years. It amazes me how their records have progressively gotten worse and worse since Transistor(1997) but they keep getting bigger and bigger. Amazing.
